Key Responsibilities

• Manage and assess patients on mechanical and non-invasive ventilation across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations, providing education to patients and families as appropriate
• Perform and assess patient care procedures including oxygen therapy, aerosol medication administration, humidification, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and airway management
• Obtain, process, and report arterial blood gases independently without direct supervision
• Perform effective CPR including airway management, supportive ventilation, and chest compressions; perform intubation where applicable
• Document all patient care activities, orders, and completed/cancelled orders accurately using EPIC
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff, physicians, and respiratory orientees/students; participate in Quality Improvement activities and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care
• Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC) — Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) — Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients, families, and clinical staff
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to operate all respiratory care-related equipment
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work across multiple hospital departments
