Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Cardiac Med-Surg (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week with 3–4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period | Expected 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Cardiac Med-Surg unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients via telemetry (airstrip monitoring system); perform EKG rhythm identification
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem and heparin; manage non-titratable drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, and amiodarone
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a free charge nurse, unit secretary (day shift), and PCTs
• Participate in floating rotation with other travel nurses as needed per unit policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Tennessee
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Telemetry certification and EKG/cardiac rhythm identification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with cardiac medications and drip management
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience with GE telemetry systems and bedside monitoring equipment
• Background in cardiac or stepdown nursing environments
