Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Weekdays and some weekends | Rotating holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / PCU / Step-Down setting with an expected patient ratio of 1:3
• Perform and maintain IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as required
• Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in rotating holiday coverage as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license – compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Step-Down experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in IV start and telemetry monitoring required
• EPIC experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted
• Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing higher-acuity stepdown or PCU patients in a large academic or teaching medical center environment
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to floating assignments across units of varying acuity levels
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills in fast-paced inpatient settings
