Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week; two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform bedside shift report and actively include patients and family members in their plan of care
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Document accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Perform and maintain skills including IV starts, basic wound care, surgical drain management, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy; contract labor is first to float on a rotation basis

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in applicable state
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required as dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Neuro Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience working in a facility with Comprehensive Stroke or Trauma Center designation
