Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Transplant)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and/or circulator duties in a high-volume operating room with a focus on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
• Participate in organ implantation procedures in the recipient patient; transplant experience must extend beyond organ harvesting
• Operate Misonix/CUSA equipment proficiently during surgical cases
• Cover non-transplant OR cases as assigned when transplant cases are not scheduled
• Fulfill on-call obligations including liver call, one on-call shift per week, and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months OR RN experience required; 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience strongly preferred and must be reflected on skills checklist
• Demonstrated experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures including organ implantation into the recipient patient
• Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start date
• Must be nicotine-free; a negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine is required within 12 months of start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience charting in EPIC
• Background in a short-term acute care or teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and pharmacology assessments
