Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Support Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4–5:1 (PCU)
- Perform and assist with advanced bedside procedures including chest tube insertion, intubations, and other provider-directed interventions
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, IV pumps, and Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) devices
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner electronic health record system
- Conduct bedside shift reports and, when serving as relief charge nurse, perform nurse leader rounding
- Float to other units as required per facility floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure eligible to practice in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience in a large acute care facility
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Experience with critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
- Proficiency in central line management
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner documentation system
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or ICU/stepdown setting
- Demonstrated ability to serve in a relief charge nurse capacity
