Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of clinical operations within assigned departments, including staffing, scheduling, patient care assignments, and supply and equipment management.
- Manage financial performance of assigned departments, including setting annual budgets and promoting cost-effective utilization of staff and resources.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate department staff; partner with Education and Human Resources to ensure ongoing training, competency validation, and career development.
- Implement and maintain compliance with regulatory agency standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Facilitate and participate in quality improvement activities to monitor and enhance patient care standards.
- Serve as a clinical resource and step into direct patient care roles as required; ability to assume Acting Chief Nursing Officer responsibilities in the CNO's absence.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Alaska RN license required at time of submittal.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience, with at least 2 years as a staff RN in chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a nursing setting.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Influenza vaccine required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred.
- Proficiency as a super user in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, long-range planning, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead in high-stress or emergency situations.
