Contract | 13–25 Weeks | 3 x 12-Hour Evening Shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | 36 Hours/Week | No Block Scheduling

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a freestanding emergency department serving self-presenting patients across all age groups (infant through geriatric), with limited EMS presentations
• Manage a patient assignment within a typical 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 21–30 bed unit
• Participate in and respond to special procedures and emergency events including Moderate Sedation, Stroke Codes, Heart Codes, Trauma Codes, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and external pacing
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR; provide timely handoff communication to charge or oncoming nurses, particularly during or following codes, RRTs, or significant events near shift change
• Adhere to weekend (every other weekend) and holiday (every other holiday) rotation requirements
• Remain within the Emergency Department; limited float support to CED or WED may occur

Required Qualifications

• Active Delaware RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience — no exceptions
• Recent Epic experience required
• All certifications must be current and submitted with application
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rate; candidates within 50 miles are considered local
• All requested time off must be submitted at initial submission — requests made after submission will not be considered or approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR documentation
• Familiarity with high-acuity emergency procedures including trauma, cardiac, and stroke response
• Experience caring for a broad patient population spanning infant through geriatric age groups
