Key Responsibilities
- Deliver competent respiratory care procedures including airway management, bag/mask ventilation, suctioning, and use of artificial airways as ordered by physician
- Initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients; interpret flow volume and pressure volume curves to guide appropriate clinical changes
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and assess patient respiratory status to recommend and document appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Administer respiratory medications with the ability to translate dosing for neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures and enter daily services and charges into the department system
- Assist in orientation and training of new employees and respiratory or nursing students as needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC
- BLS certification required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- NRP certification required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least one year of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
- Experience with pulmonary diagnostics
- Experience with cardiac diagnostics including EKG, Holter monitor, event monitor, and cardiac stress testing
