Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging exams including X-ray, Fluoroscopy, C-arm, and OR procedures in accordance with department protocols or in coordination with the Radiologist.
- Practice radiation safety in strict adherence to ALARA standards and operate imaging equipment consistent with manufacturer recommendations.
- Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity using two identifiers, review medical history, obtain informed consent, and provide patient education prior to procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, including procedure charging and supply documentation, and ensure all prior studies are available for Radiologist interpretation.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other imaging modalities, adjusting schedules, and covering call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, patient transportation, and training or cross-training of imaging staff as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist.
- Cross-training in additional modalities such as CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography.
- Experience with electronic health records systems including PACS and RIS/HIS.
