Contract (16–26 weeks) | Three 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Call requirements include one to two 12-hour weekday call shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM) and one full weekend of call every five weeks | Must be flexible with schedule to meet unit and patient care needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting with a focus on open heart and cardiovascular surgical cases
• Scrub hearts — required competency for this role
• Circulate in CVOR cases and, when floated, circulate (not scrub) in other OR suites including General, Ortho, Neuro, and ENT
• Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Maintain flexibility to float to other OR suites as needed to meet unit staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience with recent, high-competency experience in Cardiovascular / Open Heart OR
• Must be able to scrub hearts — this is a non-negotiable requirement
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years — required and non-negotiable
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Large academic or teaching hospital experience required
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation is not accessible in this area — snow/all-season tires recommended November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience circulating in a variety of OR specialty suites (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT)
• Strong adaptability and ability to meet the scheduling needs of a high-volume surgical unit
