Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2 (PICU) or 1:2–3 (Stepdown)
- Perform procedures including IV starts, catheterizations, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
- Assist with and support lumbar puncture procedures
- Document all patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
- Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed per unit float policy
- Adhere to scheduling requirements, including working 3 weekends per 6-week schedule cycle
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required (2 years preferred)
- Proficiency with Alaris infusion pumps
- Experience with Cerner documentation system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of PICU nursing experience
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Familiarity with pediatric stepdown care environments
