Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation throughout each patient visit, including keeping patient boards updated with current information
- Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors; collaborate with techs supporting cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage areas
- Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
- Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior practices, and consistent patient communication throughout each visit
- Demonstrate ability to work in all areas of the ED with flexibility to meet scheduling needs of the department
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- ACLS required prior to start date
- BLS required prior to start date
- PALS required prior to start date
- TNCC required prior to start date
- CPI required prior to start date
- NIHSS required prior to start date
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or comprehensive stroke center
- Background in a high-volume Emergency Department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
