Registered Nurse – Oncology (Hematology/Oncology Unit)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Hematology/Oncology unit for patients with diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Monitor and respond to oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
• Perform telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and feeding tubes; perform phlebotomy including central line blood draws
• Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention standards; float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum Med/Surg experience required
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with Epic (computerized charting)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hematology/Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Experience with blood product administration and management of complex IV therapies
