Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) plus one additional night shift per week | 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Float within a Critical Care Float Pool, providing nursing care across multiple ICU settings including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
• Adapt to varying unit needs based on staffing demands and patient acuity, floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity per float policy
• Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management as core clinical functions
• Utilize the EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and patient management
• Deliver high-acuity critical care nursing to a diverse patient population across specialty ICU environments

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system required
• IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management experience required
• Valid compact or Ohio state RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Locals are welcome and accepted
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity (charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted)
• Former employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 6 months to be eligible; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating across multiple ICU subspecialties (neuro, cardiovascular, surgical, medical)
• Familiarity with high-acuity critical care environments and rapid patient assessment
• Strong adaptability and ability to integrate quickly into varied unit cultures and workflows
