Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across metro campuses as a dedicated float pool clinician — no permanent home unit assigned
• Provide direct patient care for conditions including cardiac arrhythmias, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, AFIB, and COVID
• Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care as needed
• Participate in holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Complete 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license — both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers considered
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency in Med/Surg telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown care settings
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, and port access
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
• Familiarity with Virtual Nurse workflows, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell, and EPIC EMR
