Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 shifts per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required (one holiday per group: Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday; Christmas Eve or Christmas Day; New Year's Eve or New Year's Day)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Step-Down unit with patient ratios of 3:1 to 4:1
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab draws without a dedicated vascular access team
• Care for post-open-heart surgery patients (Day 2 or Day 3) including management of pacer wires
• Independently call consults and conduct codes as needed
• Float to ICU and other inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED based on unit needs and prior experience
• Document and manage patient care using the EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Active Kansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Demonstrated experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab collection
• Ability to function independently without a vascular access team
• Must be prepared to work one holiday from each designated holiday group per contract requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-open-heart surgery patient care experience, specifically Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wire management
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity patients independently
• Prior experience floating to ED, ICU, and mixed inpatient units
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
