Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Contract | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating nights, weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient acute care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and other respiratory, neuro, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Manage and monitor patients on BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and dialysis; care for ablation and cath lab patients
• Read and interpret telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR and administer medications via Pyxis dispensing system
• Maintain a patient assignment of 3–4 patients per nurse in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit (32 private-room beds)
• Float to other units as needed, including ICU (2:1 ratio) or general medical floors (5–6:1 ratio), based on unit needs and experience level

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Demonstrated comfort and competency with chest tube management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Extensive ICU experience (required for potential ICU float assignments)
• Prior experience with EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Background in stepdown, PCU, or IMC nursing in an acute inpatient setting
