Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 Hours Per Week | 12-Week Assignment | Weekends and Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency room environment with an average daily census of approximately 160 patients
• Manage a patient assignment within a pod-based team model, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 standard and 1:6 in the triage area
• Care for a diverse patient population including stroke patients, pediatric patients, and patients from skilled nursing facilities
• Collaborate within an integrated care team including PCTs and physicians in a geographically co-located unit structure
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as applicable, overseeing unit operations and supporting staff during the shift

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• 3–5 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• CPI, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• ECRN Region 9 certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an ER Charge Nurse role
• Experience managing high-acuity patients including neurological and pediatric cases
