Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in alignment with CDC, OSHA, CMS, FDA, TJC, and APIC guidelines
- Collect, trend, and maintain infection control data and statistical reports; submit required reporting to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and other regulatory agencies
- Develop, implement, and update infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and program plans based on risk assessments, evidence-based practices, and accreditation standards
- Facilitate infection prevention and control education and training for staff, patients, families, and communities, including new hire and annual IPC orientation
- Serve as co-chair for the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and collaborate with the broader Performance Improvement team
- Travel to various sites as required to assess, educate, and train staff on infection prevention and control practices
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field such as Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or similar
- Minimum 3 years of acute care and/or infection control experience, or equivalent experience in data collection, performance improvement, or risk management
- Experience with basic statistics and epidemiological principles
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current
- Flu vaccine required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (MPH, MSN, or similar)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Long-term care infection prevention and control experience
