Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular-focused ICU setting, including management of post-cardiac surgery patients (non-direct from OR), pre/post cardiac cath and intervention, and valve replacement/repair
• Monitor and manage patients with advanced hemodynamic devices including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz lines
• Perform and interpret dysrhythmia management, ABGs, and ventilator management including care of ventilated patients, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Administer and titrate IV medications including continuous sedation, neuromuscular blockade, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips; manage IV access including arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and ports
• Provide care for patients requiring CVVHD/CRRT, lumbar drains, surgical wounds with drains/wound VAC, and CVA/acute stroke management
• May float to sister ICU campuses (MICU or other ICU units) as needed; no on-call required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CV ICU experience required
• Active Illinois RN License required
• CPR and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above prior to submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with thermoregulation and multi-system organ failure management
• Proficiency in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE use
• Experience with phlebotomy and suctioning techniques (ETT and NT)
• Familiarity with procedural sedation administration
