Contract | 12-Hour Mid Shifts | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holiday Rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed Emergency Department serving a broad patient population ranging from newborns to elderly, including minor complaints through critically ill presentations
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor readings using Philips monitoring systems
• Perform and assist with lab draws; collaborate with ED techs, respiratory therapists, charge nurses, and a 24/7 house supervisor
• Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; primary trauma bay assignment is not expected for travelers
• Adhere to all facility policies including drug-free campus requirements and call-off policies

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ENPC or PALS certification required
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least one prior travel assignment strongly preferred
• SANE RN experience preferred
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with resident physicians preferred
• Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration in a high-acuity emergency setting
