Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (up to 5:1 when stretched)
- Perform neurological and spinal assessments, including C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Manage and monitor chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
- Administer blood transfusions and operate equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, and patient lifts (Skylift)
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed; participate in every-other-weekend scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Neuro and trauma care experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a PCU or stepdown setting
- Experience with tracheostomy care and management
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
