Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit for patients with conditions including CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation)
- Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
- Operate and monitor unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners, and lift equipment
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Assist with or perform bedside cardioversion as indicated
- Float to MedSurg units, other step-down units, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (or compact license eligibility for North Carolina)
- Minimum 2 years of step-down or progressive care nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Demonstrated experience with titratable cardiac IV medications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with prostacyclin therapies (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge nurse experience
