Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit serving patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation)
- Manage and titrate cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
- Monitor patients via continuous telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac status
- Operate unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners
- Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
- Float as needed to MedSurg units, stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown or progressive care (PCU) experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Demonstrated experience with titratable and cardiac IV medications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with prostacyclin therapies (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge nurse experience
