Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Step-Down unit with patient ratios of 3:1 to 4:1
• Manage patients with complex needs including BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab draws
• Care for post-open-heart surgery patients (Day 2 or Day 3) including management of pacer wires
• Independently call consults and conduct codes without reliance on a vascular access team
• Float to ICU and inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED based on unit needs and prior experience
• Document and manage patient care using the EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Active Kansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Demonstrated experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab draws
• Comfort operating independently without a vascular access team, including calling consults and running codes
• Facility is a nicotine-free environment; compliance is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-open-heart surgery patient care experience, specifically Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wire management
• Prior experience floating to ICU, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, or Emergency Department settings
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity patients independently
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
