Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend, every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Manage patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Document and coordinate care using the Epic electronic health record system
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
• Participate in specialty-specific orientation modules as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must adhere to facility float policy; travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers require a 1-year separation and leadership approval; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Experience managing complex, multi-diagnosis patient populations
