Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Holiday Rotation Required | No On-Call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular-focused ICU setting, managing complex multi-system conditions including CABG, valve replacement/repair, and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic support devices including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz lines
• Administer and titrate continuous IV medications including cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, and procedural sedation
• Manage ventilated patients including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, suctioning (ETT/NT), BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Perform IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access
• May float to sister ICU campuses (MICU or other ICU units) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 3 years of CV ICU experience required
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above prior to submission
• Required certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Demonstrated skills in CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/Acute Stroke Management, lumbar drain management, infection prevention, isolation precautions, PPE use, phlebotomy, and surgical wound/wound vac care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred; please indicate if applicable
• Experience with Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and cardiac intervention procedures
• Familiarity with thermoregulation management and multi-system organ failure protocols
