Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (12-Hour Days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry; perform IV starts and administer medications
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication framework
• Work every other weekend as required and participate in floating to other MS/Tele areas, which may include COVID care units
• Complete all assigned shifts per scheduling requirements; any missed shifts must be made up within the same week or at the end of the contract
• Wear navy scrubs per unit dress code

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying — first-time travelers will not be considered
• BCLS certification required
• NIH / NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome to apply (reduced rate applies for candidates within 50 miles of the facility)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in a Med/Surg Neuro setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) protocols or neuro-focused patient populations
