Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Function as a float nurse, assigned to units by the nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
- Provide direct patient care across a variety of acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, and trauma
- Deliver care in observation, nephrology, joint replacement, cardiac surgery, and GI settings as assigned
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
- Maintain patient ratios that vary according to unit need, typically 1:6
- Complete required orientation modules and annual competency modules as directed by the Nurse Educator onsite
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or valid compact (multi-state) RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses are not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Must be available every other weekend
- 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submittal)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a float or multi-unit capacity within an acute care environment
- Familiarity with a broad range of specialty areas including trauma, oncology, neurology, and cardiac surgery
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
