Montessori Academic Coach

Primary Purpose: The Academic Coach will work closely with classroom educators and school leadership to strengthen instructional practices, analyze student performance data, provide coaching and professional development, and support the consistent implementation of Montessori principles and curriculum.

Position Details:

  • Location: Forest Park, GA
  • Pay: Starting at $40/hr
  • Schedule: Flexible Afternoon Hours - 5hrs/wk = 20hrs/mo

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Montessori certification
  • Previous Montessori classroom experience required
  • Experience providing instructional coaching, teacher mentoring, or professional development required
  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and data-driven instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach and support Montessori teachers through observations, feedback, modeling, and collaborative planning.
  • Provide ongoing instructional coaching focused on effective Montessori practices and student-centered learning.
  • Support teachers in developing differentiated instruction to meet the academic and developmental needs of individual students.
  • Analyze student assessment data to identify trends, learning gaps, and opportunities for instructional improvement.
  • Partner with teachers to develop action plans and strategies to improve student achievement.
  • Support the alignment of Montessori instruction with school-wide academic goals and standards.
  • Facilitate professional development, workshops, and teacher learning sessions.
  • Model effective classroom practices, lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to monitor instructional quality and academic progress.
  • Assist teachers with curriculum planning, scope and sequence, assessments, and instructional resources.
  • Support new teachers through onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
  • Promote culturally responsive and inclusive instructional practices.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative, and reflective professional culture among educators.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, pedagogy, and best practices.
  • Support interventions and instructional strategies for students who need additional academic support.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and other members of the school community.
Work Environment

The Academic Coach will primarily work within the school environment and regularly visit classrooms to observe instruction, model practices, and provide coaching. The position requires frequent collaboration with teachers and school leadership and may include occasional professional development sessions outside of regular instructional hours.
