Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a physician and directed by a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT), following established plans of care
- Administer therapeutic interventions including exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance
- Guide patients through active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, activities of daily living, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
- Operate therapeutic equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generators, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines
- Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising RPT
- Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards
Required Qualifications
- Must hold an active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Vermont and New Hampshire, or hold a valid compact license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of one year of experience as a PTA in a home health care setting
