Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays | Self-scheduling model in place; scheduling preferences will be accommodated to the extent possible

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including NICU and PICU populations
• Deliver age-appropriate respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to assess, plan, and implement respiratory treatment plans
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic electronic health records system
• Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including orientation modules and specialty-specific training completed during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained by the Wednesday before the start date — candidate must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Epic experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
