Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM) | No weekends, no holidays, no on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide range of surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant cases (excluding open heart surgeries and liver transplants)
• Manage and monitor adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a Level I Trauma Center PACU environment with an average daily census of 70–90 patients across 38 bays
• Perform critical care interventions including management of artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP monitoring), administration of blood products, and management of vasoactive/IV vasopressor medications
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for all documentation and charting
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed to meet facility staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact; Illinois license must be in hand at time of submittal); pending Missouri license submissions may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers welcome
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (must be obtained by compliance deadline)
• Critical care experience required, including care of ventilated patients and invasive monitoring
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO requests must be finalized at time of submission; no more than 7 days of RTO per assignment (requests exceeding 7 days require manager approval); no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Phase I PACU experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Magnet-designated facility
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Experience caring for diverse surgical patient populations including neurosurgical and vascular cases
