Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, Antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
- Manage a dynamic patient census including inductions, high-risk antepartum, and third-trimester testing patients, with average daily deliveries around 7 and census frequently reaching up to 14 patients
- Perform OB triage assessments and support third-trimester testing for an average of 4–5 patients daily in addition to triage influx
- Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
- Float to like units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as needed to meet patient care demands
- Document patient care using Epic electronic health records system
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Hepatitis B vaccine required (titers and declinations not accepted)
- 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of candidate submittal; time off is approved on an individual basis
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge RN experience preferred; facility is willing to train candidates with the aptitude for charge responsibilities
- Experience in high-risk obstetrics or antepartum care
- Familiarity with high-volume Labor & Delivery environments
