Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting during night shift hours
- Adhere to infant-driven feeding protocols; Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Participate in weekend scheduling, with an expected 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Fulfill holiday coverage expectations, including an expected 2 of 3 winter holidays worked
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned during onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted as pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- References required
- This unit does not accept local candidates — candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with infant-driven feeding protocols and neonatal care standards
