Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for adult medical/surgical patients held within the Emergency Department who are awaiting inpatient bed placement, including patients at PCU acuity levels
- Perform telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of cardiac rhythms both on-unit and via remote monitoring
- Manage a variety of clinical needs including blood product administration, PICC/peripheral line care, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and colostomy and feeding tube management
- Float to Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical areas as needed based on patient census and unit demands
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 for MS/Tele patients or 1:4 for PCU-level patients
- Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Proficiency in MS/Tele skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response utilization, phlebotomy, heparin and insulin administration, isolation precautions, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management

Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification and experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries, or traumatic brain injury
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis management, and central line blood draws
- Wound care and wound VAC experience; ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience
- Ability to access ports and proficiency starting IVs
