Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Long Term Acute Care Medical/Telemetry setting with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data for assigned patients
- Float within scope to other units at a lower level of care based on critical staffing needs
- Fulfill on-call obligations, including holiday coverage requirements (one holiday with two on-call/additional shifts per six weeks, or two holidays with no on-call/additional shifts)
- Complete a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of orientation — one attempt permitted; pass/fail
- Adhere to facility attendance policy; contracts may be reviewed if more than two shifts per 13-week assignment are missed without reasonable explanation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license or pending license (must be obtained prior to start date)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 2 years preferred and reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of orientation
- Must complete lab requirements within 24 hours of contract signing
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Prior telemetry or medical/surgical acute care nursing experience
- Familiarity with arrhythmia recognition and interpretation
