Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Step Down Unit)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | 36 Hours Guaranteed per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down/IMC/PCU setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
• Manage patients requiring trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
• Complete required weekend shifts (2 shifts every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday for day shift)
• Float to lower-acuity floors within the service line as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or a qualifying compact state (must match permanent residence); Illinois license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of Step Down, IMC, or PCU nursing experience
• ACLS certification required
• BCLS/BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with vasopressor management, sedation drips, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Experience managing patients on mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy
