Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a pulmonary-focused population, including patients with COPD, asthma, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and oxygen support up to BiPAP/CPAP (no vents)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias as part of ongoing patient assessment
• Maintain patient ratios of 5:1, with potential to run at 6:1 based on unit needs
• Document accurately using EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Float within the service line as needed
• Fulfill weekend requirement of 3 weekends (6 weekend shifts total) per 6-week cycle, and work 2 of 3 major holidays as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure considered for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS (BCLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Local candidates are welcome; note that a lower rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior telemetry nursing experience
• Experience caring for tracheostomy patients, chest tube management, and high-flow oxygen delivery systems
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
