General Education Teacher
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Setting: In-Person | School-Based
Primary Purpose:
A General Education Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging instruction and fostering a positive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. The teacher will develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, collaborate with staff and families, and create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student success and achievement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid GA teaching certification required.
- Experience working with school-aged students in a classroom setting preferred.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage lesson planning, grading, and classroom responsibilities.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Previous teaching experience in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to lift and move classroom materials and equipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning & Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district curriculum standards to support student learning and achievement.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and student engagement.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and classroom participation. Provide feedback and adjust instructional methods as needed to support student growth.
Student Support: Identify and address varying academic needs through differentiated instruction and individualized support when appropriate.
Collaboration with Staff: Work collaboratively with school counselors, administrators, special education staff, and other teachers to support student success and school initiatives.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, academic performance, and classroom expectations.
Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, workshops, and training to remain current on educational practices and district initiatives.
Classroom Organization: Maintain organized classroom materials, resources, and instructional supplies to support daily learning activities.
Student Engagement: Foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning through engaging instructional practices and classroom activities.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal educational regulations, district policies, and school procedures.
Work Environment:
- Classroom and school environment, including individual and group instruction.
- Frequent interaction with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
- May involve participation in school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as assigned.
