Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity pulmonary stepdown and intermediate care setting, managing diagnoses such as COPD, pulmonary conditions, and ventilated trach patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias via telemetry; manage cardiac drips and titrate as required
• Manage ventilated patients and perform respiratory care including tracheostomy management, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), chest tubes, and ABG interpretation
• Administer IV therapy including blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines; perform port access
• Provide pre/post hemodialysis management and care for patients in renal failure; manage feeding tubes and gastrointestinal care needs
• Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet staffing requirements; licensure in both Kansas and Missouri (or compact license) is required at time of submission

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; strong ventilator experience is required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Proficiency in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, neurological care (CVA, TBI), and isolation precautions
• Charting experience in Epic required (pre-start Epic modules and/or test-out must be completed prior to start)
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with endobronchial valves and advanced pulmonary procedures
• Background in medical/surgical telemetry or cardiac telemetry settings
• Familiarity with Airvo high-flow therapy and pulmonary valve placement care
