Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a surgical population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedics/spine patients
• Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring as core unit competencies
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC for documentation and medication management
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 and adhere to unit scheduling needs, including every-other-weekend requirements
• Float occasionally to other units within or near the facility as needed
• Complete self-scheduling in alignment with unit needs and nurse manager input

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but a lower rate applies

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Background in surgical patient populations (colorectal, orthopedic, hepatobiliary, or general surgery)
• First-time travel nurses will be considered
