Contract | Full-Time | Days (3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit serving intermediate medical patients and surgical overflow, including post-operative cases and specialty populations such as diabetic teaching and wound care
• Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and utilization of Rapid Response Teams
• Manage IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
• Provide gastrointestinal and genitourinary care including feeding tube management and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Deliver neurological and respiratory support including CVA care, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
• Participate in holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed; expected to work 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission — unwillingness to comply may result in cancellation
• Minimum 1–2 years of Telemetry experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Required Certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Proficiency in Epic EMR (EPIC training module must be completed prior to start)
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with titration of insulin drips and management of renal failure patients
• Orthopedic experience including ortho trauma and total joint replacements
• Tracheostomy management and surgical drain care
• Experience with eye surgery patients and plastics/surgical drain management
