Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for adult medical/surgical patients in an ED inpatient holding area, supporting patients awaiting inpatient bed placement with varying acuity levels including PCU-level patients
- Perform telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
- Manage a range of clinical skills including blood product administration, PICC/peripheral line care, heparin and insulin drips, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management, and isolation precautions
- Float to Emergency Department and MedSurg areas as needed; target ratios are 1:6 for MS/Tele patients and 1:4 for PCU-level patients
- Document using Epic, communicate via SBAR, and dispense medications via Pyxis
- Work every other weekend as required; may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency in MS/Tele skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, colostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure care, phlebotomy, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management

Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification; experience with IV insulin protocols and pre/post hemodialysis management
- Experience accessing ports, performing central line blood draws, and starting IVs
- Background in CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, or total joint replacements
- Wound care and wound VAC experience
